754 THOUSAND TL FINE WAS IMPOSED TO 134 COMPANIES WHO DID NOT COMPLY WITH THE CONSTRUCTION PROHIBITIONS

Kuşadası Municipality has increased its inspections against companies that do not comply with construction bans. In this context, in accordance with the Misdemeanor Law, a total of 754 thousand 600 lira fines were imposed on 134 companies that were determined to have violated the rules during the checks carried out by the Police Department teams so far.

Kuşadası Municipality Police Department teams have increased their inspections throughout the city since May 15, when the construction bans began. Police Department teams, which evaluate complaints from citizens in addition to routine inspections throughout the year, continue to check the construction of companies that violate the ban, do not comply with the rules or do not interrupt their work. In this context, Police Department teams take penal action in accordance with Articles 32 and 36 of the Misdemeanor Law No. 5326 when they detect companies that perform improper work and do not comply with the construction ban circular. A total of 754 thousand 600 lira fines were imposed on 134 companies that were determined not to comply with the rules during the checks carried out by the Police Department teams so far.

Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel stated that the penalties imposed should be increased further in order to be a deterrent and said, “Some companies can persistently continue their rough construction activities even after the penalty. Our police teams will continue their inspections, within their authority, against those who do not comply with the ban, without interruption. It is not possible for us to give flexibility to any company that does not comply with the rules. This issue is brought to the agenda and distorted in different ways due to the fight between workers and employers at a construction site in our city the other day. Necessary action was taken against the construction company in question both before and after the incident, and a fine was imposed in accordance with the relevant law. However, our municipality, as a public institution, can intervene at this point as much as the law deems appropriate. "As in all our work, our priority is the peace of our citizens," he said.
