BLUE FLAG BEACHES OF KUŞADASI PASSED THE INSPECTIONS SUCCESSFULLY

A season inspection was carried out by Turkish Environmental Education Foundation (TÜRÇEV) officials at 24 beaches and 1 marina in Kuşadası, which met the necessary criteria and qualified to receive the Blue Flag in 2023. The beaches and marina operated by ARYA A.Ş., a subsidiary of Kuşadası Municipality, and other tourist facilities have successfully passed the inspections carried out in areas such as bathing water quality, life safety, environmental education and management.

In Kuşadası, one of Turkey's important tourism centers, the first inspection of the season was carried out at 24 beaches and 1 marina business that were eligible to receive the 2023 Blue Flag award. In this context, the Turkish Environmental Education Foundation (TÜRÇEV) examined whether 7 beaches belonging to Arya A.Ş. Touristic Facilities, a subsidiary of Kuşadası Municipality, and the beaches and 1 marina operated by other touristic facilities maintained the Blue Flag criteria. Kuşadası, which has a great national and international reputation with its kilometers-long beaches, received full marks in the first of the inspections carried out twice a year.

“WE CAME OUT WITH OUR HELP”

Kuşadası Municipality Arya A.Ş. Board Member Responsible for Beaches Vedat Kazancıoğlu stated that the Blue Flag is a very important criterion in touristic areas and said, “A Blue Flag beach actually means a safe beach. It does not only mean the cleanliness of the beach, but when viewed from the outside, it means that it contains the necessary criteria for local and foreign tourists to say 'this beach is safe, I can swim here'. Following the delivery of the Blue Flag, the authorities check whether the criteria are met in the inspections carried out twice a year. We are ARYA A.Ş., a subsidiary of Kuşadası Municipality. We continue cleaning, maintenance, repair and security work on a 33 thousand 283 square meter beach in Kuşadası. We increased the number of blue flag beaches, which were 6 last year, to 7 this year by adding Adakum beach. "This year, as every year, Kuşadası Municipality and ARYA A.Ş. beaches passed the Blue Flag inspections with flying colors," he said.

'THEY CAN COME TO OUR BEACHES WITH PEACE OF MIND'

Tayfun Çelik, the chief of lifeguards working at the beaches operated by ARYA A.Ş., said that safety is one of the most important criteria among the Blue Flag criteria. Stating that there are a total of 14 lifeguards on the beaches, Çelik said, “We are responsible for the life safety of our guests throughout the season. Last summer season, our lifeguards rescued 176 people, and this year, 80 people since the beginning of the season. "Our guests can come to our beaches with peace of mind," he said.

  'WE LOVED KUŞADASI AND THE BEACHES'

Ece Rehberoğlu, who came to Kuşadası from Istanbul for a holiday, said, “Kuşadası's beaches are very clean, safe and tidy. The maintenance work carried out by Kuşadası Municipality on the beaches is immediately noticeable. There are also lifeguards on duty at the beach. "We loved Kuşadası and the beaches," he said.

Şenay Tarhan, who lives in Germany and preferred Kuşadası for holiday, stated that she liked Kuşadası's beaches very much and said, "We have been coming to Kuşadası for holiday twice a year for 25 years. Kuşadası is a wonderful place. We come to swim at Kadinlar Denizi Beach every summer and the lifeguards are always there.
