KUŞADASI BECAME MORE BEAUTIFUL WITH ART IN THE 2023 TOURISM SEASON

High-quality cultural and artistic events organized by Kuşadası Municipality throughout the summer season added liveliness and activity to the city. Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel said that Kuşadası, which had a productive tourism season, has become a much more beautiful tourism city with culture and art.

Kuşadası Municipality, which has made a name for itself with the quality cultural and artistic events it organizes, did not slow down in the 2023 tourism season. Kuşadası Municipality, which continues its activities in different branches of art such as theater, music and sculpture throughout the year, brought great enthusiasm to the city with the organizations it organized especially during the tourism season. While classical and jazz music concerts held in Fishermen's Square, Historical Caravanserai and Güvercinada, which are at the center of cultural and artistic events, offered art lovers the opportunity to listen to music in magnificent atmospheres, the Street Festival and the Golden Pigeon Composition Competition attracted national attention.

LIFE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE STREET

One of the most popular events during the summer season was the Kuşadası Street Festival, which was held for the second time this year. Turkey's first thematic street festival, organized in cooperation with Kuşadası Municipality and Kuşadası Altın Güvercin Culture, Art and Promotion Foundation (KUSAV), with the participation of Ayhan Sicimoğlu, created a carnival atmosphere in the city for 3 days. The most striking aspect of the festival, which was held under the titles "Taste on the Street", "Entertainment on the Street", "Music on the Street" and "Art on the Street", was that it brought the rich gastronomy culture of the earthquake region to the city this year, in addition to the local flavors of the Aegean. The festival, which hosted well-known musicians, cooks, chefs, artists, dancers and speakers and included events spread all over Kuşadası, was visited by thousands of people.

JAZZ BREEZE IN THE MAGICAL ATMOSPHERE OF HISTORY

Maffy Kuşadası Jazz Days and Güvercinada Concerts, organized in cooperation with Kuşadası Municipality and KUSAV, in memory of world-famous Kuşadalı jazz artist Ahmet Muvaffak Falay, during the summer season, brought a jazz breeze to the city. The concerts that offered art lovers the chance to watch the live performances of world-famous jazz artists in the Caravanserai, which stands out with its 4-century history, and in Güvercinada, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List, attracted great attention. The concerts held throughout the summer in Fishermen's Square, one of the important symbols of the city, added great color and enthusiasm to the city.

THE GOLDEN DOVE GOT ITS WINGS FOR THE 26TH TIME

Kuşadası Altın Güvercin Composition Competition, Turkey's first and only composition competition, was held for the 26th time in the 2023 summer season. The 26th Golden Pigeon Composition Competition, organized in cooperation with Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, Kuşadası Municipality and KUSAV, provided its participants with two unique days. The grand final night of the 26th Golden Pigeon Composition Competition, which was enlivened by the presentation of the popular television programmer Okan Bayülgen, was broadcast live on Tele 1 and Number1 TV. At the final night, Aşkın Nur Yengi, who took her first step into her musical career by coming first in the Golden Pigeon Composition Competition, which was held for the second time in 1987, with her composition "Anew", which she interpreted together with the late pop music artist Harun Kolçak, took the stage and added color to the night with her beautiful songs.

THE HEART OF KUŞADASI BEATS IN IKİOKLU

History, culture and art came together in the city with the 'Kuşadası İkioklu Neighborhood Festival', which was organized for the second time this year in cooperation with Kuşadası Education and Development Foundation (KEGEV) and Kuşadası Municipality. The festival, which was held in İkioklu, the first settlement of the city, brought the forgotten neighborhood culture to the visitors in a pleasant atmosphere for 3 days with concerts, exhibitions, talks and delicious local dishes.

CRETIANS MEET IN KUŞADASI

The three-day International Cretans Festival, organized for the 11th time this year by Kuşadası Municipality and Cretans Federation (GIRITFED), brought together thousands of Cretans from different cities of Turkey and Greece. Thousands of Cretans from various cities of Turkey and the world participated in the Cretan Festival, which was organized to keep Cretan culture alive and pass it on to future generations. The festival, which took place for three days in Davutlar District, Kervansaray, İbramaki Art Gallery and Davutlar Sevgi Beach, attracted great attention with the stands featuring Cretan cuisine and various local products.

MARBLE BLOCKS ARE SHAPED BY THE THEME OF PEACE AND FREEDOM

The International Neopolis Sculpture Symposium, organized for the 4th time this year in cooperation with Kuşadası Municipality, KUSAV, Mehmet Nuri Göçen Culture Education and Art Foundation and Arya A.Ş., continues with the participation of 10 sculptors from 7 countries. In the symposium dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic, the works of the sculptors who shaped the marble blocks with the theme of 'peace and freedom' will be exhibited in different parts of the city after the symposium ends on October 20.
