Kuşadası Pet Rehabilitation Center continues to welcome homeless friends. In this context, the center, which adopted 157 stray animals and gave them a warm home in the first 6 months of 2023, is also appreciated for the free neutering process it offers to prevent the uncontrolled proliferation of cats and dogs living on the streets.

Kuşadası Municipality, which draws attention with the projects it has implemented regarding stray animals, undertakes the care and responsibility of thousands of stray cats and dogs throughout the year at the Kuşadası Pet Rehabilitation Center, located on the Kirazlı District road. Temporary shelter, nutrition, treatment and neutering needs of stray animals are also met through the centre, whose physical conditions are being improved day by day with the initiatives of Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel, who sees dear friends as an integral part of city life. Special treatment is given to cats in the Cat Treatment Unit established within the center by Kuşadası Municipality. Two Haybulans vehicles, which are animal ambulances, help sick and injured stray animals. Teams working on a 24/7 basis provide emergency intervention to sick or injured stray animals.

FREE NEUTRALIZATION

A total of 2,464 stray animals, including 1,828 cats and 636 dogs, were sterilized in the first 6 months of the year at Kuşadası Pet Care and Rehabilitation Center, where 3 veterinarians and 6 veterinary technicians work. Within the scope of the neutering service, which is of great importance for the health and living conditions of stray animals, an average of 10 cats and 5 dogs are neutered daily by veterinarians working at the center in 2 fully equipped operating rooms. Stray animals, which are tagged after being sterilized, are kept under surveillance for a while and then released into their natural environment.

Tanya Ağaoğlu, who brought the cats she cared for on the street to the Pet Care and Rehabilitation Center for neutering, invited city residents to the center to neuter the animals they see on the street and said, "Neutering is carried out free of charge at Kuşadası Municipality's Pet Care and Rehabilitation Center. The teams help you even on weekends. The employees are very caring and they love animals very much. Stating that the free neutering process is for stray animals, Kuşadası Pet Rehabilitation Center Manager Fulya Smart said, “We continue our neutering service for stray animals 7 days a week.
