OPEN WATER SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP WAS HELD IN KUŞADASI FOR THE THIRD TIME

This year, Kuşadası once again hosted the Open Water Swimming Championship organized by the Contemporary Life Support Association (ÇYDD) to provide educational support to university students.

Open Water Swimming Championship, organized by ÇYDD with the support of Kuşadası Municipality and under the main sponsorship of AKUT Search and Rescue Association, Ekin Hotel, Hikmethan Hotel, Kuşadası Rotary Club and Kuşadası Güvercinada Rotary Club, was held in Kuşadası under the organization of ÇYDD sports officer Bağdagül Şimşek. Approximately 213 athletes, both amateur and professional, from across Turkey participated in the championship organized to provide educational support to university students at the city's world-famous Blue Flag beach, Ladies' Sea. The competition took place in the 1500-3000 meters and 4 x 250 relay categories.

MEANINGFUL SUPPORT FROM ATHLETES TO GAZA

Before the competition, a moment of silence was observed by laying a black wreath in the open sea in memory of the children and swimmers who lost their lives due to the attacks on Gaza by Israel. Then, during the race that started, for security purposes, the AKUT Water Search and Rescue Team and the 9-person diving team from the Coast Guard Station Command accompanied the swimmers in the sea with their boats. Awards were given to the athletes who ranked in the race: Kuşadası Deputy Mayor Seyfi Seyhan Suvari, City Council President Mustafa Ünver, City Council Disabled Assembly President Muhsin Aytekin, ÇYDD Headquarters Reserve Board of Directors Sports Unit Supervisor Serpil Çakmak Karan, ÇYDD Kuşadası Branch President Münevver Kılıç and ÇYDD Board of Directors. given by its members.
