THE HOPE OF STRAY ANIMALS TO HOLD ON TO LIFE: HAYBULANCE VEHICLES

'Haybulance' vehicles, which are animal ambulances put into service by Kuşadası Municipality for sick and injured stray animals after Mayor Ömer Günel took office, rushed to the aid of 16 thousand 614 beloved pets of the city in the first 9 months of 2024 and enabled them to hold on to life. The dedicated work of their team was highly appreciated by animal lovers.

Kuşadası Municipality, which sets an example for all of Türkiye with its animal-friendly policies, continues to be the hope of life for the beloved pets of the city. In this context, Kuşadası Municipality, which has 2 fully equipped Haybulances operating on a 24/7 basis, provided emergency intervention to 16 thousand 614 sick or injured stray animals in line with the notifications made to Güvercin Masa in the period from January to September 2024. Depending on the severity of the situation, the city pets were taken to Kuşadası Pet Rehabilitation Centre, treated, and were left at the points where they were taken after from once they were restored to health. Animal lovers welcomed the efforts of the Haybulance teams, which deal with an average of 60-70 cases per day, for the recovery of stray animals.

Haybulance teams, who evaluated the incoming reports from different points of the city, recently provided medical aid to cats with various ailments such as openings in their abdomen, being injured as a result of being hit by a car and being sick because they were infected with viruses in Cumhuriyet, Bayraklıdede, Camiatik and Ege districts. The cats were immediately treated by the veterinarian in charge of the Haybulance vehicle. Another cat with a wound in its mouth was taken to the Haybulance vehicle which was then transported to the Cat Treatment Centre in the Kuşadası Pet Rehabilitation Centre.

Stating that they were very happy with Kuşadası Municipality’s haybulans service, animal lover Turan Alış said;

 “Whenever I report a sick or injured stray animal to the Haybulans teams in the area where I live, they get to us in a short time of 15 minutes. For this reason, I would like to thank our Mayor Ömer Günel and the Haybulans teams who act with a sense of duty and responsibility to try to save the lives of stray animals.”
