The Street Festival, which was held for the second time this year in Kuşadası, continued with the colorful cortege march and the popular electronic pop music group KÖFN concert on the first day, followed by food and tasting workshops held with the participation of famous chefs in the Historical Caravanserai on the second day.

The second day of the Kuşadası Street Festival, organized with the slogan "Life on the Street" in cooperation with Kuşadası Municipality and Kuşadası Altın Güvercin Culture, Art and Promotion Foundation (KUSAV), started with the Olive Oil Expression and Tasting Workshop titled "I am a Patient of Olive Oil" with the participation of Ayhan Sicimoğlu. The olive oil tasting, held in the workshop held in the Historical Caravanserai with the participation of Kuşadası District Governor Sadettin Yücel, Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel and KUSAV President Levent Köylü, accompanied by Ayhan Sicimoğlu, who shared interesting information about olive oil, attracted great attention.

In the workshop, Ayhan Sicimoğlu was accompanied by Aydın Commodity Exchange Olive Oil Tasting Panel Expert Yusuf Küçük and Ahlatoğlu Olive Oil Factory Manager Oktay Ay. It was stated that chemical and sensory analysis methods were used in the workshop to understand the quality of olive oil, and that the color of olive oil is not a quality criterion. It was noted that olive oil does not like heat and light, so it should be stored in dark bottles and in as dark an environment as possible. Stating that Turkey ranks 4th in the world in olive oil production, Ayhan Sicimoğlu said, “Due to the crisis in Italy and Greece, Turkey rose to the second place this year. Although the annual per capita consumption of olive oil in Turkey is 2 liters, this figure is around 18-20 liters in Italy and Spain. In ancient Greece, cutting down an olive tree was considered equivalent to killing a person. I am sure that there are many people in our country who commit this crime. Kuşadası Street Festival is not just a taste or tasting event. "We hope that the workshops in this festival will raise awareness and awareness about the value of olive trees and olive oil," he said.
