The building located in Yıldırım Street is known as the house of “teacher Feride”, from the famous “Çalıkuşu” novel of author Reşat Nuri Güntekin, who is the heroine of the novel. One of the finest samples of Ottoman era houses this building was restored in 2008 and is now used as a culture house. This structure was registered as a protected building by the Supreme Board of Immovable Cultural and Natural Assets in 1987.
