Güvercinada is connected to Kuşadası by a breakwater. Güvercinada, which is of great strategic importance for the Genovese, was used against the Mora rebellion during the Ottoman period to prevent attacks from the islands.

It also hosts a castle called Güvercinada Castle on Güvercinada. The castle, which dates back to the Byzantine period, took its final shape during the renewal of the island during the Ottoman period. Güvercinada also served as a police station against pirates at that time and for this reason it was called the 'Pirate Castle'. The tower, located at the highest point of Pigeon Island, was used by the guards to monitor the surroundings.

In Güvercinada, where there is a water cistern outside the castle, today extensive landscaping has been done and a cafeteria and restaurant have been opened on the island. Adding a special beauty to Kuşadası's values, Güvercinada is illuminated at night and continues to decorate our city with a fascinating view.
