Marriage Application Procedures for Foreign Nationals

CERTIFICATE OF NO OBJECTION TO MARRIAGE: A document confirming marriage eligibility must be apostilled by the relevant authorities of the country of origin and translated into Turkish by a notary.

If this document is obtained from the consulate of your home country in Turkey, it must be approved by the Provincial Governor's Office in the city where the consulate is located or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara.

If this document is prepared in multiple languages by the country of origin, it does not need to be approved or translated in Turkey.

BIRTH CERTIFICATE: The birth certificate must be obtained from the country of origin and translated into Turkish either at the consulate of the country in Turkey or at a Turkish Notary.

Passport Translation: The passport must be translated by a notary.

Documents obtained from Honorary Consulates will not be accepted.

All foreign nationals who do not speak Turkish must have a Notary interpreter present during the marriage ceremony.

The bride and groom must provide 5 passport-sized photographs each.

Health reports must be issued by the Municipality’s Population Directorate.
Please inform that all documents are valid only for 6 months from the date they are issued.
