This tree species has natural distribution in sutheastern Europe , Turkey and Caucasia. It is common in Northern Anatolia and Marmara Region in Turkey.It is grown locally in Aegean and Mediterranean Region and found along with beech ( Fagus , L. ) ,oak ( Quercus, L. ) and spruce species between 30 – 1500 m heights.
