KUSADASI MUNICIPALITY PRESSES THE BUTTON FOR AWARD-WINNING KAMPINOVA PROJECT
Kuşadası Municipality pressed the button to bring the ‘Kampinova’ project, which it will implement in cooperation with Habitat Association, one of Turkey’s most important non-governmental organizations, and Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, to the city. The construction of Kampinova, which will introduce Kuşadası to the new tourist type “digital nomads” of the age, is starting at Sevgi Beach in Davutlar District.
The Municipality of Kuşadası starts construction work on February 1 to bring the ‘Kampinova’ project, which it has designed in accordance with the changing understanding of tourism and education with the coronavirus, to the city. Kampinova, which will be built on an area of 13 thousand square meters in Sevgi Beach of Davutlar District in cooperation with Habitat Association and Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, is specially designed for people who emerged during the pandemic period, who carry out their work in the digital environment without depending on time and a certain place, and who are known as “digital nomads”.
DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES ALL TOGETHER
Kampinova, where there will be training, workshops, tents, sports, events, stages, performances, recreation, common work areas and bungalow houses and social facilities, will offer its guests an innovation-oriented work opportunity in nature. Digital nomads who come to Kampinova, which can accommodate approximately 260 people at the same time, will also have the opportunity to participate in various events and festivals to be organized for them. In Kampinova, which was deemed worthy of an award in the “Youth Friendly Cities Idea, Project and Implementation Competition” organized by the Union of Municipalities of Turkey (TBB), trainings in line with the requirements of the digital age will also be organized in line with the demands of the Y and Z generations.
Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel met with the head of municipal departments, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Public Works and Engineering Department and ARYA A.Ş Chairman of the Board of Directors Tümer Apaydın at Ada Camping regarding the project, which is planned to be completed in April. During the meeting, Mayor Ömer Günel, who exchanged ideas about the final version of the project, which will be implemented in an area of 13 thousand square meters in Sevgi Beach, received information about the first phase of the works to be carried out.
‘IT WILL BE THE CENTER OF THE NEW TOURISM APPROACH’
Stating that Kuşadası is a very suitable city to host Kampinova-style projects thanks to its natural beauties, Mayor Ömer Günel said;
“Our world has entered a different process with the pandemic. In this process, in accordance with the changing tourism habits, we first built Ada Camping, our camping and caravan area. Now we are carrying out our Kampinova project for those who work as digital nomads who are not bound to time and place. With Kampinova, which we plan to complete and open in April, we will add another attraction centre to Kuşadası. Thus, we will further increase the share we receive from the new tourism understanding.”
