29 OCTOBER WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION KUŞADASI BRANCH WAS OPENED

Kuşadası Branch of the '29 October Women Association', which was established to defend and develop human and women's rights and raise awareness of gender equality in society, was opened with a ceremony. Speaking at the ceremony, Association Chairman Şenal Sarıhan said, "We are struggling to be the voice of women in our country."

Kuşadası branch of the 29 October Women Association was opened with a ceremony held at Kuşadası Fatma Özel Arabul Cultural Center (KUAKMER). The ceremony was attended by Kuşadası District Governor Sadettin Yücel, Kuşadası Municipal Council Members Melahat Yaylacı, Funda Şenol and Hasan Çelik, Kuşadası Municipality Operations and Affiliations Manager Ethem Kerim, Association Chairman Şenal Sarıhan, board member Aynur Yılmaz, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations and Kuşadası. Members of women's associations operating in Turkey attended. Before the opening ceremony, a moment of silence was observed for Atatürk and his comrades on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the adoption of the Civil Code in Turkey.

Making the opening speech of the ceremony, Kuşadası District Governor Sadettin Yücel said, “With the declaration of the Republic, our women gained very important rights. Without non-governmental organizations, awareness cannot rise in society. In this context, I wish success to the Kuşadası Branch of the 29 October Women's Association."

“HUMAN RIGHTS ARE VERY IMPORTANT”

Kuşadası Municipal Council Member Melahat Yaylacı said, “When we look at the point reached today in Turkey, we see that the value given to people has decreased significantly. In this context, I would like to emphasize that human rights are very important. Because where there are human rights, there are also women and children's rights,” he said.

Müge Tilki, President of 29 October Women's Association Kuşadası Branch, said, “Our primary goal is to be an association that touches, sees and hears everyone in our city and keeps the pulse of the street. We will do our best to develop our women. "We will always be with our women in Kuşadası," she said.

Chairman of the Association, Şenal Sarıhan, said: “Our aim is to defend and develop human rights in general, women's human rights in particular, and to create awareness of gender equality by following the path opened by the world and our country's women's movement and the Republican Revolutions for women's equal participation in social life. In accordance with the requirements of a democratic, secular and social state of law, to work to raise the status of women in the legal field and in life, and to protect women and children from all kinds of violence. We are fighting to be the voice of women. "We want femicide and violence against women to end in our country as soon as possible," he said.

Following the speeches, Kuşadası Municipal Council Member Melahat Yaylacı and Funda Şenol gave various gifts to 29 October Women's Association Chairman Şenal Sarıhan and board member Aynur Yılmaz.
