4TH INTERNATIONAL KUŞADASI NEOPOLIS SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM STARTED

The International Kuşadası Neopolis Sculpture Symposium, held for the 4th time this year in Kuşadası, the tourism capital of Turkey, has started. Neopolis Sculpture Symposium, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic, will last until October 20 with the participation of 10 sculptors from 7 countries.

Kuşadası Municipality, Kuşadası Altın Güvencin Culture Art and Promotion Foundation (KUSAV), Mehmet Nuri Göçen Culture Education and Art Foundation (MN Göçen Foundation) and ARYA A.Ş. The 4th International Kuşadası Neopolis Sculpture Symposium, organized in collaboration with Asil Ada İnşaat and under the main sponsorship, has started. This year, a ceremony was held at the Old Camel Wrestling Arena in Kustur District for the opening of the symposium, which will be dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic and held with the theme of 'peace and freedom'. The ceremony was attended by Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel, Mehmet Nuri Göçen Culture, Education and Art Foundation representative Ebru Gökçe, KUSAV President Levent Köylü, ARYA Touristic Facilities Chairman Tümer Apaydın, Neopolis Sculpture Symposium Curator Özlem Şengönül, deputy mayors, municipal council members, political Representatives of the parties and art lovers attended.

Speaking at the ceremony, the curator of the symposium, Özlem Şengönül, said, “To my artist friends who came together from different countries of the world to bring works of art to Kuşadası, which welcomed the 100th anniversary of our Republic with art, to our Mayor Ömer Günel, who values art and artists, to the KUSAV Foundation, and to the Mehmet Nuri Göçen Foundation. and I would like to thank everyone who contributed in advance. “I hope it will be a nice symposium,” he said.

Neopolis Sculpture Symposium helps us think about how we can make Kuşadası a more artistic city and share our ideas. “KUŞADASI BECOMES BEAUTIFUL WITH ART”

Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel also said that the Neopolis Sculpture Symposium was an art event that they started in the first year they took office. Pointing out that tourism cities are beautified with art, Mayor Ömer Günel said, “Artists from all over the world met in Kuşadası again. I think more than 200 artists applied this year. After reviewing the artists' works with a committee, we determined the names together with our curator. Our artists will work in a period of 40-45 days to create works of art from marble blocks. And after these works of art are presented to our public on our beach for a year, they will be placed in different parts of the city. "We want our city to become a city that thrives and becomes more beautiful with art," he said.

After the speeches, the 4th International Kuşadası Neopolis Sculpture Symposium started with the first symbolic hammer blow by President Ömer Günel, Ebru Gökçe representing Mehmet Nuri Göçen Culture, Art and Education Foundation, ARYA Touristic Facilities Chairman Tümer Apaydın and KUSAV President Levent Köylü. .
