FISH STALLS IN KUŞADASI ARE SUITABLE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH

The Municipality of Kuşadası and the District Department of Agriculture and Forestry carried out price and hygiene inspections at the fish market stalls in the city centre. During the inspection, the lengths of the fish offered for sale were measured to see if they were within legal limits.

In order to protect the fish stock in the seas throughout Türkiye, a fishing ban has started as of April 15. Kuşadası Municipal Police Department teams also went to the fish market in the city centre with the District Agriculture and Forestry Department Fisheries Control Unit officers to inspect it. During the inspection, which lasted approximately 1 hour, the freshness of the fish offered for sale on the stalls and their suitability for public health were checked. The authorities also checked the price tags and measured the lengths of the fish one by one. During the inspection, it was seen that the fishermen were complying with the hygiene rules.
