GÜRBÜZ DOĞAN EKŞİOĞLU'S "MY CATS" EXHIBITION IS AT ADA MODERN ART GALLERY

Ada Modern Art Gallery, which has been continuing its activities with exhibitions consisting of the works of the most competent and distinguished artists of contemporary art since its opening in Kuşadası, started to host the personal painting exhibition of world-famous painter and graphic artist Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu, titled 'My Cats'. The exhibition, consisting of the most important cat paintings of the artist, who is the winner of many national and international awards, can be viewed free of charge until July 23.

This month's guest of Ada Modern Art Gallery, which has brought the city together with masters of art since the day it was opened in cooperation with Kuşadası Municipality and Kuşadası Altın Güvercin Culture, Art and Promotion Foundation (KUSAV), was world-famous painter and graphic artist Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu. Ada Modern Art Gallery for the opening of the exhibition called 'My Cats', consisting of the most important cat paintings of Ekşioğlu, whose paintings were on the covers of The New Yorker and Forbes, two of the most important magazines of the world, two of his paintings were published as postcards by Unicef and thousands of them were distributed all over the world. The works of the artist, who has won 71 important awards, 24 of which are international and 44 of which are national, can be viewed free of charge until July 23.

Ada Modern Art Gallery Art Director and KUSAV President Levent Köylü said, “Our exhibition this time belongs to a special and mysterious creature that is in all of our lives, that we sometimes fear and sometimes love. Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu is a very valuable artist not only in Turkey but also in the world. "We are very happy to host the works of our artist, who sees the world through the eyes of cats," he said.

Painter and graphic artist Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu said, “Ada Modern Art Gallery is good enough to compete with the galleries in Istanbul. I hope that great exhibitions will continue to be opened here. "My next exhibition will be about birds," he said.

Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel said, “Kuşadası is an animal-loving city. As Kuşadası Municipality, we are particularly interested in the problems of stray animals. We are the first municipality to open a cat treatment center in the region. "In this context, it gave us great pride to host an exhibition about cats, consisting of the works of a world-famous artist, at the Ada Modern Art Gallery today," he said.

The curator of the exhibition, İbrahim Karaoğlu, said in his manifesto for the exhibition: “Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu is one of our painters who draws the most cats. He is one of the rare artists who has created his own style with a unique pictorial language and has accumulated a universal identity in his creative adventure of more than 40 years. He is a competent artist who reflects the most strange, crazy, ironic, ridiculous and careless aspects of life through his own viewfinder, as well as the incurables that accumulate on the aching edge of our lives, with an allegorical atmosphere. "You will also love the exhibition, which was watched with admiration by thousands of people in Ankara, Istanbul, Antalya, Eskişehir and Mersin at the European Cartoon Center ECC, one of the most important art centers in Europe, located in Kruishoutem, Belgium."
