IMPORTANT DECISION FROM KUŞADASI MUNICIPAL COUNCIL FOR AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK

At the August Ordinary Council Meeting of Kuşadası Municipality, it was decided that the villages, which became neighborhood status in the city with the Metropolitan Municipality Law No. 5216, would be returned to their rural neighborhood identity. Mayor Ömer Günel said, “We carried out a very meticulous and fair study. "I would like to thank all the council members and my teammates who contributed," he said.

Kuşadası Municipality August Ordinary Council Meeting was held at the Historical Caravanserai under the chairmanship of Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel. At the meeting where the issues coming from the directorates and referred to the commissions were discussed, a very important decision was taken to support agriculture and animal husbandry. In this context, it was unanimously decided that the villages that became neighborhood status with the Metropolitan Municipality Law No. 5216 should be returned to their rural neighborhood identity. By decision; Çınarköy, Caferli, Kirazlı, Yaylaköy and Yeniköy were determined as rural neighborhoods, excluding the areas with local development plans. The remaining part of Soğucak District, other than the areas with a zoning plan, has become a rural settled area. If the neighborhoods in question have a building permit for agriculture and livestock purposes, but misuse is detected, they will be excluded from the scope of Rural Residential Area. While making the evaluation, the distance of the 6 neighborhoods to the city center, their socio-economic status and accessibility to municipal services were taken into account. With the decision, these neighborhoods will be provided with a certain exemption from some fees and a discount on water and property taxes starting from 2025.

Municipal Council Member Tacettin Özden, who spoke on behalf of the AK Party Group after the vote, said, “This decision is very important for our villages to continue their agricultural and livestock activities. The peasantry is difficult. As you know, villagers cannot earn easy money. The economic conditions of the villagers are not that good. We need to support the villagers. The support we provide to the villagers is very important for the continuation of agricultural development and animal husbandry. "For this reason, Mr. President and dear council members, we thank you very much for your approach and support to our proposal," he said.

Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel stated that they made an important decision to prevent the interruption of agricultural and livestock activities in rural settlements and said, “I think we made a fair decision by doing a very meticulous study. I would like to thank our municipal council members and teammates who contributed to this decision. "I hope that the decision, which will make life in rural life even easier, will be beneficial to our fellow citizens," he said.
