KUŞADASI MUNICIPALITY CLEANING EMPLOYEES CALL FOR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSCIOUSNESS

The pollution  of  Doğa Tokuçoğlu Basketball Park in Ladies Beach by environmentally insensitive individuals has sparked outrage. Kuşadası Municipality workers and residents, upon seeing the trash dumped in and around the park's pergolas, reacted angrily and called for environmental awareness.

The state of Doğa Tokuçoğlu Basketball Park, designed with a basketball theme as part of the theme parks project implemented by Kuşadası Municipality, has made everyone say; "this is way too much."  Kuşadası Municipal Cleaning Works Department employees, who work 24/7, day and night, regardless of the weather, to maintain a clean and hygienic city and district residents were astonished by the sight of beverage cans, plastic bottles, cigarette butts, and nut shells haphazardly discarded in and around the park's pergolas.

Kuşadası Municipality employees, who meticulously maintain and clean the park and green space they have brought to the city, which is the size of 80 football fields, expressed their reaction to this deplorable sight by placing safety tape around the pergolas and hanging signs reading "Closed due to pollution" during the cleaning process. The municipal personnel, who thoroughly cleaned the entire park, starting with the pergolas, emphasized that protecting public spaces, especially parks and green spaces, is the responsibility of the entire community.

"OUR EFFORTS ARE GOING TO WASTE"

Environmental Engineer Arda Coşar from the Kuşadası Municipality Cleaning Works Department statind that all municipal teams were working to create a more modern, cleaner, greener, and more aesthetically pleasing city added;

“As the Kuşadası Municipal Cleaning Works Department, we work tirelessly to keep every inch of our city clean and tidy. We also maintain and clean our parks without fail. However, it saddens us to see the areas we clean quickly become polluted by environmentally insensitive individuals, and to see our efforts go to waste. We urge all our residents to be more environmentally conscious.”

"WHAT CAN THE MUNICIPALITY DO IF EVERYONE THROWS THEIR WASTE ON THE GROUND?"

Zeki Türker, a district resident, expressed his appreciation for the parks and cleaning efforts implemented by the Kuşadası Municipality saying;

 "Protecting and keeping public spaces clean is not just the responsibility of the municipality, but of all city residents. What can the municipalities do if everyone throws their waste on the ground or next to the trash cans?"
