KUSADASI MUNICIPALITY CONTINUED ITS APRIL 23 TRADITION THIS YEAR AS WELL

Acting Mayor Tahsin Demirtaş symbolically handed over his office to Derin İşyar, a student of Pakize Kamil Çağlayan Middle School as part of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day celebrations of Kuşadası Municipality.

Kuşadası Municipality continued the tradition of leaving the mayor's seat to children this year as part of the National Sovereignty and Children's Day celebrations on April 23. Within this scope, Kuşadası Acting Mayor Tahsin Demirtaş symbolically transferred his office to Derin İşyar, a 5/A student at Pakize Kamil Çağlayan Middle School. Acting Mayor Demirtaş then asked Derin if she had any instructions. Derin gave instructions to the principals present in the office to increase the number of parks and green areas in Kuşadası, make school routes more modern and comfortable, increase the number of libraries, and build a skate and roller rink for children. Derin also contacted Kuşadası Deputy Mayors Yusuf Atak and Ayşegül Dağlı to get information about the municipality's activities. 

"WE CHILDREN ARE THE OWNERS OF THE FUTURE"

Derin İşyar, expressing that she was very happy to be given the position of mayor even for one day, said;

 “I respectfully and gratefully commemorate Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who dedicated this meaningful day to us children. The recent upsetting incidents in our schools deeply affected all of us. We, as children, are very sad. But we know that if we are loving and together, everything will be better. We want to live in a happier, safer, and cleaner city. We wish for more parks, more beautiful streets, and equal opportunities for all children. Because we, children, are the owners of the future. Thank you for believing in us.”
