KUŞADASI MUNICIPALITY POLICE DEPARTMENT CONDUCTS STRICT INSPECTIONS AT LOCAL MARKETS

The Kuşadası Municipality Police Department continues its regular inspections at district markets across the city. Aiming to ensure that residents can shop in a healthy, reliable, and fair environment, municipal police teams meticulously check vendors’ price labels and the weights of the products they sell.

Thanks to weighing-control stations set up at market areas, residents have the opportunity to weigh and check the products they purchase on the spot. Through this practice, shoppers can report to municipal police officers if they find that the weight of a purchased product is below the stated amount. Following inspections, action is taken against vendors when discrepancies in product weights are identified. The practice aims both to protect consumers’ rights and to prevent unfair competition among market vendors.
