KUŞADASI RESIDENTS GAVE ANOTHER CHANCE TO THEIR UNUSED ITEMS WITH THE SWAP SHOP

The Swap Shop organized by Kuşadası Municipality within the scope of June 5 World Environment Day events at İsmail Cem Friendship and Peace Square with the slogan “Give your unused items a second chance” attracted great attention.

The event, which offered city residents the opportunity to bring their no longer used items and exchange them for another item they needed, became an important example of social solidarity while drawing attention to the principle of sustainability by developing reuse habits.

The stands set up in İsmail Cem Friendship and Peace Square in the morning hours as part of the event organized by Kuşadası Municipality Cleaning Works Department were met with interest. In line with the goals of creating environmental and nature protection awareness, developing conscious consumption and reuse habits, the Swap Shop event, which was held with an emphasis on sustainability, allowed city residents to exchange their usable items such as clothes, toys, books, shoes, and small household appliances for other items they needed.

Head of Kuşadası Municipality Cleaning Works Department Hakan Bayrak stated that the swap events contributes to waste reduction and provide benefits to those in need, and expressed his satisfaction with the interest shown by the people of Kuşadası in the event. Stating that similar events will continue, Hakan Bayrak emphasized that protecting the environment and nature is possible with a sense of shared responsibility.

The city residents who attended the Swap Shop event thanked Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel and all the employees who contributed to the event, which was organized with the aim of protecting the environment and creating zero waste awareness.
