MAJOR INTEREST IN FOLK DANCE COURSES IN KUŞADASI

The free folk dance courses organized by the Kuşadası Municipality Folk Dance Academy Sports Club (KUŞADANS) are proving very popular. Open to Kuşadası residents of all ages, the courses create a cultural meeting point in the city.

The courses, run by the Kuşadası Municipality Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs, are offered in five different categories. Participants are offered classes for ages 5-7, 8-12, adults over 18, housewives, and a competition group for those over 18. Participants can both have fun and discover the richness of Turkish folk culture.

The courses, taught by experienced instructors, teach regional folk dances from across Türkiye. Participants learn to move in harmony with the rhythm of the music while also contributing to the preservation of traditional folk culture. Participants noted that the classes were both educational and extremely enjoyable, and expressed their eager anticipation for the weekly lessons. 

One of the participants, Arzu Kestaneci, said;
