MAYOR ÖMER GÜNEL: "I LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING EVERYONE IN MARL TO OUR MAGNIFICENT CITY OF KUŞADASI"

Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel attended the celebration ceremony organized by the German city of Marl on the 25^thanniversary of sister city establishment between the cities. Making a speech at the program he attended as the guest of Marl Mayor Werner Arndt, Mayor Ömer Günel said;

"I invite everyone living in Marl, our first sister city, to see Kuşadası, Türkiye’s flagship of tourism."

The municipality of Marl, Germany, organized a celebration program for establishing sister city relations with countries in Europe. Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel also attended the program held in the conference hall of Scharoun School in Marl. Mayor Ömer Günel signed the city's golden book at the celebration, which was attended by the administrators of Marl's other sister cities; France's Creil, Germany's Bitterfeld, England's Pendle, Hungary's Zalaegerszeg and Poland's Krosno- as well as Kuşadası. In the program, Kuşadası was also promoted by establishing close communication with managers from other cities. At the end of the program, a plaque of appreciation was presented to Mayor Ömer Günel by Marl Mayor Werner Arndt.

Marl Mayor Werner Arndt, who made the opening speech of the celebration program, said;

“We gathered here today to celebrate the sister city relations of the city of Marl. Friendships between cities are strong ties that unite not only us, but all of Europe. We currently have 175 city fellowships stretching from the United Kingdom to Poland. We have strong sister city relations with Türkiye as well as Europe. We have been brothers with Türkiye's Kuşadası Municipality for 25 years. I would also like to thank Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel, for accepting my invitation and being here with me today.”

"WE ATTACH GREAT IMPORTANCE TO THE SISTER CITY RELATIONSHIP WITH MARL"

Stating that they attached great importance to the sister city relationship with Marl, Mayor Ömer Günel said;

“I await everyone living here in Marl to our city Kuşadası. Kuşadası is a completely different and a very enjoyable city. We have a magnificent city with its sun, sea, nature, and history. I hope that everyone living in our sister city can see these values of our city. There are about 85 thousand inhabitants in Marl, and a significant part of them are Turkish. Kuşadası is Türkiye's flagship of tourism. There are 24 ancient cities around it. With the sister city relationship of 25 years behind us I promise that everyone who comes to Kuşadası will be welcomed in a warm environment."
