The Kuşadası Municipality İbramaki Art Gallery hosted a panel discussion titled "Non-Violence Society, Non-Violence Communication" as part of "November 25th International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women." The event, which attracted considerable attention, focused on the types of violence and how women can protect themselves and their rights against it.
The panel, organized at the İbramaki Art Gallery in collaboration with Kuşadası Municipality and Kuşadası Kadınca, featured expert psychologist Candan Öztaş and psychologist Kazım Erdoğan as speakers. The panel, which drew considerable interest from both Kuşadası women and men, was also attended by Kuşadası Deputy Mayor Ayşegül Dağlı and CHP Kuşadası District Organization Chair Mehmet Gürbilek.
INFORMATION ABOUT TYPES OF VIOLENCE WAS GIVEN
During the panel, Candan Atak, a Clinical Psychologist at the Kuşadası Municipality Women's Counselling Centre, informed participants about issues such as physical violence, psychological violence, sexual violence, economic violence, digital violence, dating violence, and stalking. “WE HAVE TO BE MORE SENSITIVE”
Psychologist Kazım Erdoğan spoke about his work with individuals prone to violence at the Berlin-Neukölln Fathers and Men's Group, which he founded in Germany. Emphasizing that society must oppose all forms of violence, Erdoğan said;
"I have prevented eight or nine femicides to date. We must be more sensitive to those around us who experience violence and provide assistance when necessary. We can establish a group similar to the one in Germany in Kuşadası."
“WOMEN MUST STAND UNITED”
Speaking at the end of the panel, Kuşadası Deputy Mayor Ayşegül Dağlı said,
“As women, we must tirelessly continue our fight against violence. We want equality. We want to defend our ideas in this country without being killed. Women need to be more enlightened, unite more closely, and support each other in every aspect of life.”
Following the event, Kuşadası Deputy Mayor Ayşegül Dağlı presented Psychologist Kazım Erdoğan with a plaque of appreciation.
