TASTE STOPS OF KUŞADASI STREET FESTIVAL BECAME A POINT OF SOLIDARITY

The Street Festival, which brought the gastronomy culture of 11 cities affected by the great earthquake disaster that occurred on February 6 to Kuşadası, attracted great attention on its second day. Thanks to the income obtained from the taste points established in 11 different locations, citizens tasted the delicious dishes of 11 cities and had the opportunity to solidarity with the earthquake victims.

The second day of the Kuşadası Street Festival, organized for the second time this year by Kuşadası Municipality and Kuşadası Altın Güvercin Culture, Art and Promotion Foundation (KUSAV) under the consultancy of Ayhan Sicimoğlu, was enlivened with tasting workshops and flavor stops. At the flavor stops where local dishes specific to the Aegean Region and Kuşadası were served last year, delicious dishes from the earthquake region were served this year.

Local dishes such as Harput soup, occe, raw meatballs, kishir pilaf, apricot roast, beli kik pilaf served in 11 different points of the city such as Fishermen's Square, Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Boulevard, Kale Gate, Kasım Yaman Park, Atatürk Square Art Street, Kaya Şavkay Square. It was received with great interest. The fact that the tickets purchased by the participants to taste the food at the food stops will be transferred to a soup kitchen to be determined in the earthquake region increased the interest. Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel and his wife Duygu Günel, KUSAV President Levent Köylü and Ayhan Sicimoğlu also visited all the flavor stops, tasted the food and chatted with the festival participants.

Mayor Ömer Günel expressed his satisfaction with the intense interest in both the workshops and the taste stops on the second day of the festival and said, "We said 'Life is on the Street' for the second time this year. This year is of special importance for us. We brought together the flavors of our 11 cities, which were greatly damaged by the earthquake and came back to life, with our fellow citizens. In addition, our citizens who purchased tickets to taste at the flavor stops had the opportunity to contribute to our earthquake-affected citizens. "The resulting sales revenue will be transferred to the earthquake zone," he said.
