THE ANNIVERSARY OF ATATÜRK'S ARRIVAL IN KUŞADASI WAS CELEBRATED

The 98th anniversary of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's arrival in Kuşadası was celebrated with a ceremony held on Gazibeğendi Hill, where he stood and watched the city.

A ceremony was held on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's visit to Kuşadası. The ceremony was held at the point called Gazibeğendi Hill because Atatürk stopped and watched the city when he came to Kuşadası; Kuşadası District Governor Sadettin Yücel, Kuşadası Deputy Mayor Melahat Yaylacı, deputy mayors, municipal council members, administrative and civil administrators, political party representatives, public institutions and organizations, managers of non-governmental organizations, students and citizens attended.

The ceremony started with Kuşadası District Governor Sadettin Yücel and Kuşadası Deputy Mayor Melahat Yaylacı laying a wreath on the Atatürk statue. At the ceremony, which continued with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, various folk dance performances were performed by Kuşadası Folklore Research Association (KUFAD). The celebration program, where hot drinks were served to the participants from the Catering Vehicle, ended with the students reading poems indicating the meaning and importance of the day.

Kuşadası Deputy Mayor Melahat Yaylacı stated that February 9 is a very important date for Kuşadası and said, "Despite the decades that have passed, the anniversaries of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's visits are celebrated with the same enthusiasm and excitement. Our Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who devoted his life to the independence of the Turkish nation and crowned the epic struggle of independence he led with his unique military genius with the Republic of Turkey, which he called "my greatest work", is a leader who has written his name in golden letters in Turkish and world history. "With these thoughts, I commemorate our Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Kuşadalı statesman Mahmut Esat Bozkurt and all our martyrs and veterans who sacrificed their lives for this country with feelings of gratitude, mercy and gratitude, and I greet you all with love and respect," he said.
