APPLICATIONS FOR THE 26TH GOLDEN DOVE COMPOSITION COMPETITION HAS STARTED

THE EXCITEMENT OF GOLDEN DOVE COMPOSITION COMPETITION WILL BE EXPERIENCED FOR THE 26TH TIME IN KUŞADASI

Applications have started for the Golden Pigeon Composition Competition, which is preparing to meet music lovers in Kuşadası for the 26th time. With a change made in the specifications this year, the obligation for composers to participate in the competition to be citizens of the Republic of Turkey has been removed. Thus, an important step was taken for Golden Pigeon to gain international qualifications.

Preparations are continuing for Turkey's first and only composition competition, Altın Güvercin, which will be held for the 26th time this year in cooperation with Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, Kuşadası Municipality and Kuşadası Altın Güvercin Culture, Art and Promotion Foundation (KUSAV). Composers who want to participate in the Kuşadası Altın Güvercin Composition Competition, which is a competition open to amateur and professional musicians in the field of popular music, will be able to apply with their original works through the official website of the competition at www.altinguvercin.com.tr until the night of July 27. Composers will be able to participate with compositions in the pop, rock, R&B, rap and hip hop genres that are compatible with the universal aesthetic standards of music. In the competition, where the obligation for composers to be citizens of the Republic of Turkey has been abolished, the obligation for the works to have Turkish lyrics will continue this year as well.

After the application process is completed, the evaluation by the selection committee will determine whether the compositions comply with the specifications and will be presented to the preliminary jury. The preliminary jury, consisting of music authorities, will examine all the compositions, regardless of amateur or professional, in terms of their superiority over each other, and determine the 10 works that will make it to the finals. The compositions that qualify for the finals will appear before the grand jury and perform live on the final night of the Golden Pigeon Composition Competition.

The digital public voting, which was added to the competition in 2020, will continue this year. Music lovers who want to vote for the competition will be able to listen to all 10 songs in the final by entering the page prepared for voting. Then, they will be able to vote for 3 different compositions by logging in with their Facebook account or the confirmation code sent to their mobile phone. In addition to the 12 final juries that will vote by listening to the finalists live, the result of the digital voting will be included in the total as the public jury as the 13th jury.

In the 26th Kuşadası Golden Pigeon Composition Competition, which will end with the grand finale, the first-place composer will receive a Golden Pigeon and 100 thousand lira cash prize, the second-place composer will receive a Silver Pigeon and 50 thousand lira cash prize, and the third-place composer will receive a Bronze Pigeon and 25 thousand lira prize money. Prize money will be given. The Most Successful Commentator Award will also be awarded within the scope of the competition.
